In a press conference earlier today, President-elect Barack Obama has announced his choices to fill some of the seats in his cabinet after he officially takes office January 20, 2009.
Here's the rundown:
Hillary Rodham Clinton: Secretary of State
Retired General James Jones: National Security Advisor
Eric Holder: Attorney General
Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano: Secretary of Homeland Security
Susan Rice: Ambassador of the UN
Robert Gates: Defense Secretary
Clinton's nomination is the latest chapter in what began as a bitter rivalry for the Democratic presidential nomination. To make it possible for his wife to become secretary of state, party officials said, former President Bill Clinton agreed to:
1.Disclose the names of every contributor to his foundation since its inception in 1997 and all contributors going forward.
2.Refuse donations from foreign governments to the Clinton Global Initiative, his annual charitable conference.
3.Cease holding CGI meetings overseas.
4.Volunteer to step away from day-to-day management of the foundation while his wife is secretary of state.
5.Submit his speaking schedule to review by the State Department and White House counsel.
6.Submit any new sources of income to a similar ethical review.
When asked about his decision, Obama stated, "I assembled this team because I am a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opintions," he said. "I think that's how the best decisions are made. One of the dangers in a White House, based on my reading of history, is that you get wrapped up in group-think and everybody agrees with everything and there's no discussion and there are no dissenting views. So I am going to be welcoming a vigorous debate inside the White House."

After the meeting, neither side made a statement.

Obama has picked Senator Joseph Biden to be his potential VP. So you know with me being a big Obama supporter, I had to go and do some research on Sen. Biden.

Yeah, so what, I'm predicting the future. Michelle Obama is headed to the throne as United States First Black First Lady.

My cousin sent me a text message last night ,while I was trying to sleep, that read, "Go Obama."

Still the competition continues. The Democrats still have several primary elections to compete in. The next one will be in North Carolina, where Sen. Obama is highly favored by the people. After that the next stops include Indiana, Oregon, Kentucky, West Virginia, Montana, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico.
