Obama Has Spoken!

In a press conference earlier today, President-elect Barack Obama has announced his choices to fill some of the seats in his cabinet after he officially takes office January 20, 2009.

Here's the rundown:

Hillary Rodham Clinton: Secretary of State
Retired General James Jones: National Security Advisor
Eric Holder: Attorney General
Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano: Secretary of Homeland Security
Susan Rice: Ambassador of the UN
Robert Gates: Defense Secretary

Clinton's nomination is the latest chapter in what began as a bitter rivalry for the Democratic presidential nomination. To make it possible for his wife to become secretary of state, party officials said, former President Bill Clinton agreed to:

1.€”Disclose the names of every contributor to his foundation since its inception in 1997 and all contributors going forward.
2.€”Refuse donations from foreign governments to the Clinton Global Initiative, his annual charitable conference.
3.€”Cease holding CGI meetings overseas.
4.€”Volunteer to step away from day-to-day management of the foundation while his wife is secretary of state.
5.€”Submit his speaking schedule to review by the State Department and White House counsel.
6.€”Submit any new sources of income to a similar ethical review.

When asked about his decision, Obama stated, "I assembled this team because I am a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opintions," he said. "I think that's how the best decisions are made. One of the dangers in a White House, based on my reading of history, is that you get wrapped up in group-think and everybody agrees with everything and there's no discussion and there are no dissenting views. So I am going to be welcoming a vigorous debate inside the White House."

Obamas Pull Up to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...

President-elect Barack Obama and soon-to-be First Lady Michelle Obama met with President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush to check out the Obamas new residence come January 20.

Obama and Bush chatted it up on the visit, discussing major country issues, while Laura Bush gave Michelle the full tour of the White House.

White House Press Secretary Dana Perino described the meeting between the two men as "good, constructive, relaxed, and friendly."

While Michelle and Laura had a sit-down conversation in the West Sitting Hall, President Bush showed Obama the Oval Office, Lincoln's bedroom, and the rooms that Obama's daughters will call their own for at least the next four years.

There were no specifics given about the conversation between Bush and Obama since it was labeled as a private meeting.

After the meeting, neither side made a statement.

We Welcome "The Chosen One"!

Sen. Barack Obama has been chosen as our 44th President of the United States. He won by a large margin with 338 electoral votes to Sen. John McCain's 156 electoral votes. Obama has made history as being the first Black man elected as President of the United States.

Barack Obama delivered his victory speech at Grant Park in Chicago, IL. Among the crowd of thousands were the tearful Rev. Jesse Jackson and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.

Now Sen. Barack Obama is our President-Elect Barack Obama. He will officially be sworn into office on January 20, 2009.

Republican Colin Powell Endorses Democrat Barack Obama!

Republican Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has announced that he is endorsing Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama. Powell served as Secretary of State in the Bush administration. Now, he is letting the whole country know that he believes that Obama will be a better leader than Republican candidate John McCain.

Powell made an appearance on NBC's Meet the Press earlier today explaining his decision. Powell basically stated that McCain's campaign dwelled too much on attacking Obama's character and neglected the real concerns of the American people.

Gen. Powell went on to criticize McCain's choice for Vice President. In reference to Sarah Palin, Gen. Powell said, "I don't believe she's ready to be president of the United States....That raised some questions as to the judgment that Sen. McCain made."

But, Gen. Powell is not the only Republican who does not agree with McCain's strategy and tactics. Late last week, conservative radio talk-show host Michael Smerconish endorsed Sen. Obama, as did conservative columnist Christopher Buckley, the son of National Review founder William F. Buckley. The Chicago Tribune endorsed Sen. Obama last week, the first time the paper has endorsed a Democrat in its 161-year history.

In my opinion, I think that almost everyone has written McCain off. His own conservative people have jumped off the McCain wagon. What does this say about his campaign, really? How can he lead the people of this country when he can't keep hardcore Republicans on his side of the fence? I blame his whole team for this downfall. He let them take the reigns and now they've led him down a dead end road.

Obama and McCain Will Stand Together!

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the tragic 9/11 attack on the United States. It is called the "worst terrorist attack ever on US soil."

Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain will put their political agenda aside to remember the fallen victims of that vicious attack. Obama and McCain will come together tonight at a special ceremony and they will walk together and place a wreath at Ground Zero for all the innocent victims and fallen heroes who lost their lives in the attack.

It is said that neither will give a speech. "We will put aside politics and come together to renew that unity, to honor each and every American who died, and to grieve with the families and friends who lost loved ones", said Obama and McCain in a joint statement.

Palin Tries to Bring Out the Big Guns on Obama!

"Hockey mom", Sarah Palin accepted her GOP VP nomination last night at the Republican convention by attacking Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama every chance she got while giving her acceptance speech.

Palin gave her opinion on Obama's vow of "change". She said that the only change Obama is referring to is the change that is gonna benefit his career and not the American people. She went on to say that Obama is not a leader and that he has never led anyone to anything.

First of all, Obama is a major fixture in the US Senate and is a Harvard graduate. From my research on him, Obama could have easily taken a job as a high-paid attorney and not shown any interest in the struggling people of this country. Instead he devoted his time and energy in setting out to right some wrongs and find solutions to many of the problems that lower and working class people face in America. To sum it up, Barack Obama cares about the people in this country.

In my opinion, Palin is full of it. The Republican party tries to paint her as an honest woman. What-the-hell-ever! This woman looks like everything that comes out of her mouth are lies, lies, and more lies. Not once did the hockey mom mention what she and the 72 year-old are going to do for the people of this country if they get lucky enough to make it to the White House. She never went into specifics with her acceptance speech. There were no talks about the struggling economy or the poor healthcare situation affecting the working class people. The only thing that we got from her speech was that she was a devout "hockey mom" and McCain was a P.O.W. Don't you think that the American people deserve more than that?

After she was done with her Obama bashing, Palin went on to turn her hunting rifle on the media as well. Her criticism of the media is mainly based on all the controversy surrounding her family. Especially, the baby daddy drama going in with her 5 month pregnant 17 year-old daughter, Bristol. But anyone--Republican, Democrat, or whatever--should have seen that Palin's entire family being present last night was a message to the media. When I saw Bristol's bust it baby, Levi, there looking all confused and out of place, I knew that something in the milk just wasn't clean. He looked like he was dragged into that seat by his hair and forced to stay there.

Levi and Bristol

Watching Palin's speech and Rudy Guiliani's speech before hers, I noticed that the Republicans aren't really that moved. They aren't as hyped as the Democratic people. According to some Republican party supporters, McCain is going to have to come out with a stepped up game if he wants a real bounce out of the Republicans at the convention. Some McCain supporters have stated that McCain is going to have to show that he is not going to be a repeat of George W. Bush. Even the Republicans are fed up with Bush and his B.S. The bottom line is: If McCain and Palin get lucky enough to set foot in the White House, this country will go to hell and back. Those two just do not make a good combination. Why he picked her to be his running mate, I have no clue. If we want 4 more years of the same bad decision-making and lack of knowledge on how to run an entire country, we will go out and support the McCain/Palin ticket. But if we want positive change and to have someone in the White House who cares about the people of this country, we will support the Obama/Biden ticket.

Go Obama/Biden 2008! It's time for a Change!

Looks Like Barack Has Picked His RIght Hand Man!

The word came in late last night that Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama had officially picked his running mate. He knew who he was gonna pick all the time. He just made the official announcement last night to all his supporters and media outlets.
Obama has picked Senator Joseph Biden to be his potential VP. So you know with me being a big Obama supporter, I had to go and do some research on Sen. Biden.

Joe Biden had been a fixture in the US Senate since 1973 when Obama was only 11 years old. He is the chairman of Foreign Relations Committee and is said to be a great pick for the Democratic ticket because of Obama's lack of experience in foreign policy.

Biden is known for his outspokeness. And from what some insiders say, that can be a good thing sometimes as well as a not so good thing. Biden was caught up in a plagiarism scandal back in 1988 and was forced to exit the presidential race. But since then, he has ressurected himself into a Washington expert and his opinion is valued by many, especially those in the Sunday talk show circuit.

Some experts say that Biden's reputation for speaking his mind very candidly could pose a hazard for the presidential hopeful on down the road. But, personally, I think that Obama made a good decision. It is a decision that compliments him. He didn't do what most people wanted him to do--pick Hillary. He picked someone who is strong in some areas where he is not so strong.

As of right now, we can sit back and see how everything plays out. But you know, no matter what, I'm always the leader of Team Barack.

Gooooo Barack!!!!!

Barack Watch! 7/21

Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama is currently in Iraq visiting the U. S. troops and meeting with Iraqi leaders. This is Obama's first on-the-ground-inspection of Iraq since he began his run for President of the United States. (The last time Obama had been over there was in 2006.) Earlier today Obama met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

When asked about the situation in Iraq, Obama told ABC news that it was time for some of the combat troops to be brought out of Iraq and deployed to Afghanistan. He says that that should be a major focus right now.

ABC News Terry Moran will be interviewing Obama tonight on Nightline at 11:35pm.

Racist Art Display About Barack Obama

Like I always say, racism is alive and well and I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon.

Last week, an "artist" by the name of Yazmany Arboleda decided to let his true colors show when he set up an exhibit in a vacant building on West 40th St in midtown Manhattan. The exhibit featured Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama, in a very unpleasant setting.

The display was titled, "The Assassination of Hillary Clinton/The Assassination of Barack Obama". The 27 year-old Boston native, Arboleda said that he was exercising his freedom of speech.

But others didn't see it that way. Because in 30 minutes, NYPD, federal agents, and the secret service came in and shut the are exhibit down. Arboleda was then taken away in handcuffs to be questioned by authorities.

Arboleda stated, "It's art. It's not supposed to be harmful. It's about character assassination."

Yeah, I guess when you get carted off by the feds, you try to change up your story a little bit. He knew exactly what he was trying to say with his exhibit. Racist BASTARD!

Check out more pics from the "art exhibit":

Our Future First Lady: Michelle Obama

Yeah, so what, I'm predicting the future. Michelle Obama is headed to the throne as United States First Black First Lady.

I really love Senator Obama's wife because she is not afraid to get up and speak her mind. She is going to voice her opinion and give you the facts at the same time.

Now she is about to go toe-to-toe with Barbara Walters.

Michelle Obama will be a guest host on ABC's The View. It will air on ABC June 18th. I will definitely be checking that out.

GO OBAMA!

My Man! Barack is On His Way!

My cousin sent me a text message last night ,while I was trying to sleep, that read, "Go Obama."

So by that alone, I knew that Senator Barack Obama had officially snatched up the Democratic nomination and was well on his journey to becoming our next US President.

Barack delivered his victory speech in St. Paul, MN at a rally housing over 17,000 supporters. He has made history for being the first Black man to win the democratic presidential nomination.

Barack locked down the 2,118 delegates he needs for victory at the August convention. At the convention, Barack will be crowned the democratic nominee and will face Republican John McCain in the November election.

Obama stated to his supporters, "Tonight, we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another."

And thanks, Cinda, for keepin me on top of my game, girl. I appreciate ya. And you know Barack is gonna take this run all the way to the White House, Baby! Yeah!

Damn! Hillary wants Obama to Get Done In!

During a meeting with editorial board of the Argus Leader newspaper in Sioux Falls, SD, Senator Hillary Clinton went and put her foot in her mouth as usual.

The board basically asked her why was she continuing in the democratic nomination race when it's clearly obvious she's not going to get a chance to run for president this time around, due to Senator Barack Obama leading the race.

Clinton went on to explain her reason. She stated that the media and the Obama campaign have urged her to drop out but she's not giving up.

She cited that the June 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy was one of the reasons she was staying in the race.

"We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California."

Now, I don't know about anyone else. But I think this heffa was hinting that she just waiting around for her chance because Obama might get popped.

But you know her camp said that her comment was taken out of context and she didn't mean that she wanted Obama to be assassinated, she was just trying to make a point that it could be mid-summer before we really know the outcome of who's going to be in the running and she is not giving up.

Oh, whatever, Hillary. You and everybody else knew damn well what you meant.

Obama Inching Closer to the Democratic Nomination

It looks like Senator Barrack Obama is getting closer and closer to winning the democratic seat for the November run for president against Republican John McCain. Obama clinched the win over Senator Clinton in the North Carolina primary. Even though Senator Clinton won in the Indiana primary, she is still far behind Obama in delegates. Obama is currently 184.5 delegates away from the 2,025 needed to secure the Democratic nomination.

After winning the Indiana primary by a narrow margin, Clinton feels that she is down but not out. Clinton stated that she is gonna be fierce competition for the West Virginia, Kentucky, and Oregon primaries. She says that, for her, it's going to be "full speed to the White House." On the other hand, Obama has very different thoughts. When he beat out Hillary in North Carolina, he made the statement that this is his "clear path to victory."

Word is that Hillary is not only having trouble getting the delegates she needs, but she is also having financial troubles in her campaign. She recently lent herself $6.4 million in the past month to help further her campaign. In her victory speech in Indiana, Clinton was not hesitant to tell the crowd that she needed their help in furthering her journey to becoming our next President. According to the amounts of money Obama's team has been fundraising, it is said that Clinton is struggling financially.

Clinton Skates by Obama in Pennsylvania Primary

In the race for the White House, Senator Hillary Clinton won the primary election over Senator Barack Obama in Pennsylvania last night.
Clinton, who is currently the underdog in the Democratic race, beat Obama by 10-points. You better believe that Sen. Clinton was on top of the world after that win.
In a speech to her Pennsylvania supporters, Clinton said, "Some counted me out and said to drop out. But the American people don't quit. And they deserve a president who doesn't quit either."

While Clinton was so happy over her win, Obama is still leading in the number of delegates he has over Clinton. And many are saying that it is highly unlikely that Clinton will make a comeback to win the Democratic candidate seat.

But Clinton sees things differently. In her round of television interviews this morning, she argued that she is the stronger candidate to take on Republican John McCain.

Obama did not lose any sleep over Clinton's win. And neither did he stick around to eat a piece of celebratory cake at the victory party with Sen. Clinton either. His plane was in the air to Indiana before the final announcement was made that she had won the primary.

Still the competition continues. The Democrats still have several primary elections to compete in. The next one will be in North Carolina, where Sen. Obama is highly favored by the people. After that the next stops include Indiana, Oregon, Kentucky, West Virginia, Montana, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico.
