Jennifer Hudson Returns!

Despite the tragedy that Academy award winning actress Jennifer Hudson suffered during the end of 2008 when she lost her mother, brother and nephew when they were murdered in their Chicago home, she will be making her first public appearance this month when she performs at President-elect Barack Obama's presidential inauguration on January 20.

The NY Post reports that while Hudson is still mourning the deaths of her closest family members, she is summoning up the strength to perform for President Obama. Hudson has been a major supporter of the soon-to-be-President. She previously graced him with her performance at the Democratic National Convention during the summer.

We know that the tragedy has taken a toll on Hudson, but it would be amazing to see her perform at the inauguration. But if she can't, we will understand that too.

Usher And Tameka Still Going Strong

Despite all the separation rumors swirling around Usher and his wife Tameka Foster-Raymond, it seems like the couple are still going in it for the long haul.

Usher and Tameka rang in the new year together in Las Vegas at Usher's New Year's Eve party at The Bank Nightclub at the Bellagio.

The couple recently celebrated the birth of their second son, Naviyd Ely Raymond, earlier last month. And I must say that Tameka has stepped her game up and is looking nice in the pictures.

Oprah Spreads The Wealth Around

Fairy Godmother Oprah Winfrey continues to bless others with her giving heart. Oprah recently donated a nice gift to a struggling private school here in Atlanta. The innovative private institution is located in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Atlanta. The staff has been struggling just to get by. They barely stayed above water by begging for monetary donations from different sources.

That is, until Ms. Oprah Winfrey stepped in to save the day. NY Daily News reports that Oprah gave the school an unexpected surprise with a donation of $365,000.

“We teach school all day and fund-raise at night,” said Ron Clark, who finds private donors to pay most of the $14,000 annual tuition for each student. “To have an unsolicited gift come like that is incredible.”

“Everything they learn is enhanced because of the teachers’ dedication and creativity,” said a tearful Gloria Nesmith, whose son, Cameron, is a fifth-grader at the academy." And Oprah noticed. I’m just overwhelmed.”

It is definitely a blessing from God to bless Oprah to bless the lives of others. This is such a heartwarming story to start off the new year. Hopefully, there are many more to come.
