Fairy Godmother Oprah Winfrey continues to bless others with her giving heart. Oprah recently donated a nice gift to a struggling private school here in Atlanta. The innovative private institution is located in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Atlanta. The staff has been struggling just to get by. They barely stayed above water by begging for monetary donations from different sources.
That is, until Ms. Oprah Winfrey stepped in to save the day. NY Daily News reports that Oprah gave the school an unexpected surprise with a donation of $365,000.
“We teach school all day and fund-raise at night,” said Ron Clark, who finds private donors to pay most of the $14,000 annual tuition for each student. “To have an unsolicited gift come like that is incredible.”
“Everything they learn is enhanced because of the teachers’ dedication and creativity,” said a tearful Gloria Nesmith, whose son, Cameron, is a fifth-grader at the academy." And Oprah noticed. I’m just overwhelmed.”
It is definitely a blessing from God to bless Oprah to bless the lives of others. This is such a heartwarming story to start off the new year. Hopefully, there are many more to come.
